Keeping the Water Out Now, making something easy to open usually means it’s easier for steam and water to get inside. That’s a problem in a bathroom. To fix this, we used high-temp silicone gaskets and sealed blocks to keep the electronics bone-dry. We also had to think about the heat. These tubes get seriously hot to make sure you actually feel the warmth quickly. To keep the unit from warping or melting over time, we used polymers that can handle the heat without breaking a sweat. What This Actually Means for You Every heater has a lifespan. Eventually, the filament thins out and it stops working. In a normal setup, that means a full “rip-and-replace” job that leaves your ceiling a mess. With our setup, the downtime is basically zero. You aren’t rewiring the whole circuit; you’re just swapping out the part that wore out. Just one quick tip: when you grab a replacement tube, make sure the wattage matches the original.
