Why that tiny 0.1°C actually matters in wafer oxidation
Wafer oxidation is one of those processes where you can’t cut corners. The heat has to be dead-on, across the whole chamber. If your heating element can’t hold temperature within 0.1°C, you’re asking for uneven oxide thickness and a hit to your yield. That’s why we built our halogen heating elements to nail that tight tolerance. You get top-tier thermal performance, but without the premium price tag. It’s a solid, engineered-here solution that just gets the job done.
Let’s talk power, voltage, and size
We packed a lot into a small space. The element uses a compact, high-density design with a 300mm quartz tube—the standard length for most diffusion furnaces. That keeps the footprint small, which makes integrating it into your chamber way simpler. Less bulk means less hassle in the hot zone. Electrically, it runs at 400V and pulls 2500W. That combo gives you the heat density needed for fast ramp-ups and steady soak control. More power means quicker response when you change the setpoint. But here’s the catch: that kind of output needs a furnace and power supply that are up to the task. If the cooling isn’t matched to the power, you’ll see the chamber temperature drift.
What’s inside: halogen, quartz, and the R7s base
Inside the quartz envelope, we rely on a halogen cycle. It keeps the filament stable, so the output stays consistent run after run. Consistency is everything when you need repeatable results day in and day out. And the quartz? We chose it for high purity and low outgassing. That matters because you don’t want anything contaminating the process environment. The connector is an R7s base—a practical choice that makes installation easy. It handles the current, makes solid contact, and turns the element into a straightforward drop-in replacement. Wire it up, seat it right, and the thermal path stays solid. No custom fixtures. No re-engineering.
What it feels like on the line: precise, reliable, and cost-smart
In wafer oxidation, the heating element isn’t just a heater—it’s part of the control loop. Our design keeps temperature uniformity tight, so oxide growth stays stable and scrap drops. The halogen-filled quartz handles thermal shock and holds output over long duty cycles, so performance stays consistent shift after shift. Yes, high heat density means your machine design needs to be disciplined. But when your furnace is built for it, you get an element that meets the spec, installs quickly, and delivers the control you need—without paying a premium.
